Remodelers Showcase Homeowners Share Their Thoughts

Deb and Rob Rueckl are the owners of the James Barton Design-Build 2011 Spring Remodelers Showcase home. Built in 1995 and purchased by the Rueckls in 2004, the home needed updating.

Over the years the Rueckls had visited several JBDB Showcase homes and were impressed with their work. Still, Deb interviewed four remodeling companies about the project.deb and rob rueckl

"I had the JBDB flyer on my refrigerator for over a year thinking James was someone we would want to talk to when we remodeled. They have a very good reputation … and we knew they would be a quality partner," added Rob. "It was a big investment and we wanted it to be done right."

Deb and Tamra got along well from the beginning. "Tamra's awesome," said Deb, "She was very honest and when she didn't agree with my ideas she had great suggestions. I'm glad I listened to her."

Rob agreed saying, "Watching Deb and Tamra work together was pretty cool. You could tell they were on the same page. There was a lot of synergy and I think it helped us get to a final design very quickly."

That may be an understatement. The entire project went from the initial design meeting between Deb and Tamra in late August to a finished project in early November.

"This is the first time I've let anybody else have control of one of my projects," said Deb. "It was hard. I had to tell myself to just trust Tamra, Andy and John and they'll get it done … and they did."

Deb and Rob feel that James has "a phenomenal crew." They acknowledge that Deb, by nature of her profession, can be very particular, "and those guys just stood there and listened," said Rob. "They were very respectful. It was like "your wish is our command.'"

Deb and Rob feel honored to be part of the 2011 Spring Remodelers Showcase and enthusiastically recommend James Barton Design-Build.
